Celebrate the Life of Lydia Blake

The celebration of Lydia's life will take place at the Harvest Temple, New Testament Church, Wednesfield Road, Wolverhampton - due to continued restrictions there is limited seated space in the church & centre building, however we will attempt to seat as many as possible inside. No limits to graveside numbers.

We invite you to celebrate the life and times of our beloved 'Mama', Sister, Aunty, Nan and Great-grandmother Lydia Blake, born on 25th April, 1931 in St Elizabeth Jamaica, passed on 29th June 2021, having reached the milestone of her 90th birthday. Lydia is remembered by her sister, Beldina, her children, Ionie (deceased), Precious, Ezra, Sadis, Adlet, Pamela, Janet and Andrew, cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-children and great-grandchildren, church brethren and many friends.

Lydia came to the UK in the 1950's with 'Papa', Leslie, (now deceased), they built a life in Sheffield, working hard to raise their children both in Jamaica and the UK. Lydia devoted her life to serving the Lord and was a faithful member of the New Testament Church of God, Sheffield, after retiring from working life Lydia moved back to Jamaica for a time, then settled in Wolverhampton and attended the New Testament Church of God, Heathtown.

Lydia loved travelling having visited the USA, Italy, Greece, The Canary Islands and most memorably The Holy Lands. Lydia enjoyed watching sports on TV such as football and tennis - she'd have made a great sports critic! Mama also liked quiz programmes like Tipping Point and Pointless.
